Well, we just got back to camp from our long canoe trip. It was, as Tucker and Jake would say, "rugged." We rowed down 30 miles of the Guvuru river, camped where we stopped, and started back the next morning.
Today was a seriously hard day. We had to get up at 4am so we could get on the river by 5:30 so we wouldn't have to fight the tide as the river came out into the Indian Ocean. But we somehow missed the tide anyway and had to end the expedition with mind-numbing physical labor in order to reach the shore. Then we we got to shore, the trucks that were supposed to pick us up weren't there because they got stuck in the sand. Thankfully we were invited to spend a few hours in a new luxury lodge on the beach. It was a moment of heaven as we waited 3+ hours. Then the trucks arrived and we drove very, very off-road back to camp. Oh, we also had a flat tire!
Now it is time to hit the hay.
